The Professional Skills Institute Advantage

  • Clinical Training​

    At PSI, our focus is on your success. Employment is the goal. The 96-week (eight 12-week quarters) Physical Therapist Assistant program includes 656 hours of clinical training. During your 6th and 8th quarters, the majority of your training will consist of working onsite in actual physical therapy departments and clinics. During this special real-world training you'll have an opportunity to shadow qualified professionals and apply the skills you've learned during your campus labs, working with actual patients. A dedicated clinical coordinator works closely with students to help match clinical sites best suited for their location and schedules..

  • Fully Equipped Labs​

    PSI provides labs that are fully equipped with the tools and equipment that you can expect to be using in your job as a Physical Therapist Assistant.

  • Qualified Instructors

    Physical Therapist Assistant courses are taught by instructors who have a minimum of Bachelor of Science or Arts degree. In addition, every instructor is required to have at least 3 years of experience working as a Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant. Students benefit from the real-world experience from instructors who have worked in the field.

Credentialing

PSI’s Physical Therapist Assistant program meets the educational requirements for licensure as a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (LPTA) in the state of Ohio and in the state of Michigan.

We have not made a determination for the following states*: AL, AK, American Samoa, AZ, AR, CA, CO, CT, DE, DC, FL, GA, Guam, HI, ID, IL, IA, KS, KY, LA, ME, MA, MD, MN, MS, MO, MT, NE, NV, NH, NJ, NM, NY, NC, ND, N. Marianas Island, OK, OR, PA, PR, RI, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, VT, Virgin Islands, WA, WV, WI, WY

Those who successfully graduate from the Physical Therapist Assistant program may be eligible to take the NPTE:PTA National Physical Therapy Exam®. Approval to take the examination is not automatic. Successfully passing the NPTE:PTA is one of several requirements for licensure.

Requirements for licensure vary among states. In order to locate the licensure eligibility requirements of another state, please contact the licensing board of that state.

National Level Professional Skills Institute is institutionally accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).

ABHES is recognized by the Secretary of Education as a national accrediting body determined to be a reliable authority as to the quality of training offered by the educational institutions and programs it accredits. Its approved and recognized scope includes degree and non-degree granting private, postsecondary institutions offering educational programs predominantly in allied health; and the programmatic accreditation of medical assistant, medical laboratory technician, and surgical technology programs. When you attend an ABHES-accredited institution, you are attending a school that has undergone a rigorous process that evaluates educational quality.

State Level Ohio State Board of Career Colleges and Schools

PSI has been granted state approval to confer the Associate of Applied Science Degrees and program Diplomas. http://scr.ohio.gov/
