The 18 month BSHS degree program culminates with an independent community study/service learning experience. Students will develop a project to contribute to a specific health or wellness related need in the community. The purpose of the project is for students to engage in self-reflection for personal and professional growth and career development.
- Qualified Instructors
Instructors teaching the BSHS degree program are Physical Therapists or individuals who have doctoral degrees that may include Education, Science, Philosophy of Education, and/or other advanced academic degrees. Instructors teaching general education classes have a minimum of a master’s degree in their specific area of study.
- Hybrid Learning
Hybrid program combines a supportive, hands-on, campus-based education environment with the independence and flexibility of online learning.
- Lab Availability
The BSHS degree program offers fully staffed open lab time with instructors for students who are interested in, or may need, additional training on specific skills.

Institutional accreditation: Professional Skills Institute is institutionally accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).

Career Outlook
For graduates opting to enter the workforce directly after graduation, the additional earned bachelor’s degree will provide career advancement opportunity and upward economic mobility.
This Bachelor of Science degree program builds upon your current experience and provides a variety of career options after completion. Graduates of the BSHS program may transfer/enroll to a graduate-level health care career program that may include, but is not limited to, Doctor of Physical Therapy, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, Athletic Trainer, and Prosthetist/Orthotist. Some additional courses may be required for various graduate programs.
Program Outcomes
Graduates of the Bachelor of Science in Health Science degree program will demonstrate:
- Foundational knowledge in the biological sciences and social sciences with application to clinical practice
- Basic research and statistical knowledge to apply clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice to clinical practice
- Advocacy for culturally-relevant health promotion, wellness, and health care for all member of society
